Rescue of Ethiopian Jews
Thank you for your marvelous story of the modern-day miracle: the rescue of two-thirds of the Ethiopian Jewish population.
As leaders of the first group of American and Canadian Jews to visit remote Ethiopian Jewish villages in Gondar province in 1981, we can attest to the accuracy of the events that followed.
We will be forever grateful to the American and Israeli governments for their courageous and remarkable efforts in saving these proud and beautiful people. However, we still face the challenge of finding a way to rescue the remaining 8,000 to 10,000 “Beta Israel” still trapped in Ethiopia.
