Rodino presents an accurate appraisal of the problems relating to the passage of a satisfactory immigration law at this time.
His call for action by President Reagan, however, is not likely to get much response. It is my impression that our President belongs to that group of ignoramuses who believe that illegal aliens are “good for the economy.”
The pitfall in procrastinating in this matter is, unfortunately, too much like the TV commercial in which the mechanic proclaims, “Pay me now, or pay me (a lot more) later.”
