CALIFORNIA - News from July 25, 1985
Citing personal reasons and the desire to pursue other business interests, Michael J. McKeon on Wednesday announced his resignation as chairman and chief executive of San Diego-based Cousins Home Furnishings, which operates 21 Brick Warehouse furniture stores around the state.
Paul T. Richards will replace McKeon as chairman. He is currently president of Brick Warehouse Ltd., which operates a chain of Canadian furniture stores.
Gerald M. Hohman, formerly Cousins’ vice president-operations, was named president and chief operating officer. Daniel P. Selznick, formerly president and chief operating officer, was named director of Cousins’ executive committee.
McKeon, who joined the furniture chain last August, said his resignation became effective at a board meeting Tuesday. He said he is considering returning to Sullivan, Stonebrook International, a Palo Alto management consulting firm that he founded before joining Cousins.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY
C. Raymond Johnson, former president and chief operating officer of Coachmen Industries Inc., Middlebury, Ind., has been named president and chief executive of Kaufman & Broad Home Systems, the manufactured housing subsidiary of Los Angeles-based K&B.;
Johnson succeeds Stanford N. Levine, who “has been given expanded responsibility at the corporate level,” the company said. Levine is senior vice president and a director of K&B.;
Reporting to Johnson will be Alton R. Austin, who has been named president of Kaufman & Broad Home Systems Marketing Corp. He previously was president of Oakwood Mobile Homes Inc. The appointments are effective Aug. 12.
Ronald L. Olson, a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Munger, Tolles & Rickershauser, has been named chairman of the board of fellows of Claremont University Center, succeeding Kenneth O. Rhodes, who had served as chairman since 1981.
Westwood Savings & Loan Assn., Los Angeles, named Tom Smith senior vice president in charge of the lending division. Also, J. J. Bible was named vice president and account executive in the secondary market department.
