Sikh militants today rejected as a “complete sellout” an agreement between Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and a moderate Sikh leader on a settlement to end the 3-year-old Punjab crisis.

The accord was rejected by the radical faction of the Akali Dal Party and the All India Sikh Students Federation at a meeting in the Sikh holy city of Amritsar, in northwest India.
