City Hall Calls Halted: Work to improve the city phone system snarled calls in and out of City Hall Friday. Workers at City Hall, which has its own phone system, were unable to receive or place calls while a new, computerized system was installed, according to Police Sgt. Rod Lininger. The new system was expected to be working by late Friday, he said. The snarl didn’t affect emergency lines, he said, adding that both the 911 and 521-1121 lines to Buena Park police and fire departments were operational all day.
