Anaheim : Motorcycle Group to Collect Toys for Needy

Share

Gift-bearing members of the Trike-On motorcycle group will roar into a Lincoln Avenue parking lot this morning in a special toy run for needy children.

Between 25 and 30 riders will bring their three-wheeled bikes to the parking lot adjacent to Winchell’s Donuts at 3150 W. Lincoln Ave. at 10 a.m. Each rider will bring at least one toy, which will be earmarked by the Salvation Army for needy Orange County children.

“We expect to get at least 200 to 300 toys from this event,” said Salvation Army spokesman Bruce Glenn. “It will help us to get ready for the Christmas season,” although some toys may be distributed sooner, he added.

“We wanted people to know that poor kids need love all year-round,” said event organizer and Trike-On member Emerick Norman. “So we decided to celebrate Christmas in July.”
