Compton College Awarded Grant for Nursing Program

Share

Compton College will receive a $132,298 grant from the federal Department of Education to finance a basic skills program tailored to nursing students.

Charles Cropsey, the college’s director of public information, said the grant--awarded under Title III of the Higher Education Act--is the fourth of five annual installments totaling about $2.5 million.

The new nursing program, he said, is to begin in the fall.

Earlier installments of the grant have been used to revamp the college’s financial aid management system, computerize various departments, including data processing and engineering, and buy color-processing equipment for the college’s photo department.
