Officials of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank said they are investigating the circulation of counterfeit $20 bills discovered a week ago in St. Lucia.

The first forged note was discovered in the Bank of Nova Scotia in Castries, the capital, officials said Saturday.

The bank’s officials said the forged bills are of excellent quality but are one inch shorter than the normal Eastern Caribbean $20 bill.
