Iran’s Council of Guardians has approved three candicates for the Aug. 16 presidential election, the official Iranian news agency reported. They are President Ali Khamenei, seeking a second term; Habibollah Asghar-Owladi, a former economy minister, and Mahmoud Mostafavi Kashani, a clergyman.
