Jewish Identity in the South Bay

In reference to Vicki Burdman’s comments on the Chabad preschool, I would like to point out that the large majority of families using this superior preschool and day-care center are in fact non-Orthodox Jews such as myself. It is true that my son is taught about all of the Jewish holidays and mitzvahs, like giving charity daily. But no pressure has been brought on our family to become more observant, as implied by Ms. Burdman. I pack milk lunches for my son from my non-kosher kitchen. And we have been very happy with the warm, supportive and stimulating environment offered our son. I encourage other non-Orthodox families to check out the school before jumping to Ms. Burdman’s conclusion.
