3 Workers Killed as Spilled Gas Ignites

INDIANAPOLIS — Three workers attempting to clean up about 1,000 gallons of gasoline spilled in a creek were killed today when the fuel ignited, sparking a fire that raced for 2 1/2 blocks, police said.
Three other people were injured in the fire along Fishback Creek in north Indianapolis. The gasoline had spilled into the creek Thursday afternoon from a broken pipeline, authorities said.
