The 30-year-old chairman and co-founder of Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple Computer remains the company’s biggest inside shareholder, with about 6 million of the 62 million shares outstanding. But Jobs’ decision mirrors his declining role at the company under its recent reorganization, which stripped him of any operating responsibility. The ongoing sale of the shares will yield about $14 million at recent market prices. Jobs had no comment on the stock sale, but it prompted speculation that he was preparing for a new venture.
