If teen-agers are moody or apathetic, practice vandalism and do poorly in school, have them undergo urine tests--by subterfuge, if necessary--because they may be heavy marijuana users, an article in the Journal of the American Medical Assn. recommended. The $20 tests are the best way of determining drug use and monitoring withdrawal, the authors said. They estimated that 130,000 high school seniors “get stoned” before or during school every day and that many of them introduce younger siblings--and even family pets--to marijuana. Heavy marijuana use is “a malignant disease, and it spreads,” the authors said.
