Crippled Woman Killed by Train in 2nd Suicide Try

NEW YORK —
A woman whose legs were severed in a suicide attempt four years ago was killed after throwing herself in front of a train at the same Bronx subway station, transit officials said today.
Officials said the woman, who had artificial legs below both knees, jumped in front of the train Thursday at the elevated station.
Claudette Thompson, 35, of the Bronx was seen “hunching over the edge of the platform” by the motorman of the train that struck her, Sgt. James Duffy said.
