Pomona World Trade Center Receives Positive Response

If all the firms which have indicated specific interest in leasing in the Inland Pacific World Trade center proposed for Pomona actually take space, their 325,000 square feet will be nearly the size of the center.

That was announced by the Pomona Economic Development Corp. on the basis of a survey conducted to determine the need for such a center. Of 11,000 questionnaires mailed out, about 4% were returned (an unusually high response, the economic development corporation said) and 20% of the responses indicated specific interest.

The square footage involved was based on an estimated average suite size of 2,500 square feet.

The survey was designed by KMG Main Hurdman of Los Angeles, an international accounting and management firm. The Inland Empire includes the eastern part of Los Angeles County, the northern part of Orange County and all of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The $66-million world trade center is being developed by Urbanetics Inc. of Los Angeles and master-planned and designed by CP+R/Aesbacher Chambers Architects, also of Los Angeles. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall, with completion in the summer of 1987.

The center will include a 12-story, 220,000-square-foot office building; a two-story, 110,000-square-foot trade mart; an eight-story, 300-room hotel with convention facilities; a two-story retail galleria with shops and restaurants; a museum and a legitimate drama and dance theater.
