Marcos’ Opponents Fail Again

MANILA —
Opposition lawmakers today tried to revive a measure for the impeachment of President Ferdinand E. Marcos, but the legislature quashed the attempt on a voice vote.
The National Assembly’s Committee on Justice and Good Government threw out a similar resolution Tuesday. Some legislators said today that they are considering organizing a “people’s court” to try Marcos for corruption, the main allegation against him in the failed impeachment bill.
