Chairman Edward E. Noble and Vice Chairman Tom Corcoran of the government’s embattled Synthetic Fuels Corp. said they have ended a feud that threatened to prevent the organization from handing out billions of dollars before Congress gets another shot at abolishing it. Noble also released copies of a controversial June 27 letter that he wrote to the White House outlining a program to close down SFC next year but only after spending $4 billion to $5 billion on several projects. The dispute within the agency reached a climax Tuesday when Corcoran and another official threatened to immobilize the agency by refusing to attend its board meetings.
