Guyana Names Widow of Burnham to Posts

GEORGETOWN, Guyana —
Viola Burnham, the widow of Guyanese President Forbes Burnham, who died Aug. 6, has been sworn in as one of four vice presidents and four deputy prime ministers of the South American nation.
Prime Minister Desmond Hoyte’s office Saturday announced the appointment of Burnham, known as “Comrade Vi” by fellow members of the ruling People’s National Congress.
