Son of Saudi Official Killed in Auto Crash

CANNES, France — The son of a Saudi Cabinet minister was killed and three other Saudis were seriously injured when their car hit a tree in this Riviera resort, police said Tuesday.
A spokesman for the company that rented the car identified the dead man as Mohammed al Salum, 20, the son of Nasir al Salum, deputy minister for telecommunications in Saudi Arabia.
The spokesman said the family had left France with the body and asked that no details be disclosed on circumstances of the accident. The Saudi Embassy in Paris declined to comment.
