Home-Delivery Vodka Sales Chilled in Sweden
From Reuters
STOCKHOLM —
Police said Thursday that they have arrested a man suspected of running a thriving home-delivery service, supplying some 200 customers with vodka after the state-run liquor stores had closed.
The state has a monopoly on the sale of alcohol in Sweden, and its liquor stores are open only on weekdays.
The man, 35, worked full-time buying vodka in the liquor stores at about $15 a bottle and resold it to his thirsty clients for around $27.
Police said his annual tax-free earnings were estimated at up to $30,000.
