Boy, 4, Dies in Healing Rite at Carolina Church

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. —
A young boy with no apparent ailments was choked to death during a “laying on of hands” healing service at a storefront church, and police charged two preachers and the victim’s parents with manslaughter.
The Onslow County medical examiner, C. L. Garrett, said Friday that 4-year-old Dennis Taylor Jr.’s windpipe was crushed during the religious ceremony Thursday, and he died several hours later.
