Agoura Hills Drops Rule on Satellite Dishes

Share

In a move to improve television reception in their remote community, the Agoura Hills City Council agreed to let homeowners install backyard satellite dishes without being required to have a city permit.

The council unanimously approved the rule Wednesday night. The action will save dish owners $695 in conditional-use permit application fees, City Manager Michael Huse said.

Some residents had complained that the fee dissuaded them from using satellite receivers.

Regular broadcast reception is poor in the secluded city 10 miles west of the San Fernando Valley, and several Agoura Hills neighborhoods do not have cable television service.
