The 16-year-old sister of the late centerfold model Dorothy Stratten has dropped a $5-million slander suit she filed against Playboy publisher Hugh M. Hefner less than five months ago, lawyers for both sides said. Both Louise B. Hoogstraten and her mother, Nelly Schaap, signed documents releasing Hefner and Playboy from any current or future claims. The suit was filed after Hefner told a press conference that Hoogstraten, then 13, had been seduced shortly after her sister’s death by film director Peter Bogdanovich. The suit said Hefner’s statements were false and defamatory and caused great emotional distress to Louise, a high school student in British Columbia. A statement from Schaap said the suit was dropped because of “the physical and emotional problems” it caused her daughter. Hefner was “gratified,” a spokesman said.
