A Sad Goodby to McAdoo; No Welcome for Green

Share

Bob McAdoo was a player who in the four years he wore the Laker uniform helped them to two world championships, and if he had not been injured in the ’84 playoffs, would have probably helped them to a third one. Coach Pat Riley said he would like to have him back in Laker camp this fall. Evidently General Manager Jerry West had the last word.

I, for one, am sorry to see him go. Thanks, Bob, for those four years. Watching your great shooting touch was a thrill for me. Wear your championship rings with pride. You certainly earned them.

For shame, Lakers.
