STAYING ON BUDGET--AND ON KEY
When a movie fits the description labor of love (synonym: low-budget), everybody pitches in--spouses work, actors hammer nails, executive producers sing back-up for the theme song. At least producers sing when they can, and one who can is George Harrison, whose Handmade Films produced the Bulldog Drummond parody, “Bullshot.”
Though uncredited, Harrison co-wrote the lyrics for the “Bullshot” theme and co-produced it with Ray Cooper (who also acts in the movie) and Legs Larry Smith of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.
According to co-writer and star Ron House, the music was produced in the 24-track recording studio in Harrison’s home in Henley, England. A rock video version of the song is said to be in the works. Let’s see Harrison go unnoticed there.
