A man who became known as the “Immigration Rapist” because he posed as a federal immigration officer while kidnaping, raping and extorting money from immigrant women has been sentenced to life in prison. Napoleon Lopez Castro, 51, who worked as a pipe fitter in a Long Beach shipyard, approached Latino women at bus stops and threatened them with deportation unless they paid him “a fine” or granted him “a favor,” said Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Margaret Barreto Morehouse.
