CHANTILLY, Va. —
A Boeing 737-100 jetliner on Sunday was forced to return to Dulles International Airport minutes after taking off when a passenger noticed part of an engine casing was missing, officials said.
People Express Flight 183, bound for Newark, N.J., with 115 passengers and a crew of five, returned to Dulles without incident, said airline spokesman Ed Stukane.
Stukane described the missing portion on engine No. 1 as a cowling.
