Wheeling-Pittsburgh and the USW agreed to meet.
The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service said Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and the United Steelworkers have agreed to meet Tuesday. It will be the first direct talks between the two sides since July 21, when the union called a strike against the steelmaker. Wheeling-Pittsburgh has been operating under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code since April.
