Governor Will host a private luncheon with Vice President George Bush on Tuesday after a tour of the restored state Capitol.

Will give a welcoming speech to the triennial convention of the Episcopal Church on Wednesday at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Will attend a Republican Party luncheon for Bush on Thursday at Universal Studios in Universal City.

Assembly Floor Action:

Veterans Home: Approved and sent to the governor on a 77-0 vote a bill (AB1633) by Assemblyman Steve Clute (D-Riverside) appropriating $300,000 for planning a second veterans home in Southern California.

Senate Floor Action: Cellular Telephones: Approved and sent to the governor on a 27-4 vote a bill (SB1431) by Sen. Herschel Rosenthal (D-Los Angeles) to make it illegal to deliberately eavesdrop on an automobile telephone conversation or sell equipment to do so.

Religious Discrimination: Approved on a 31-1 vote a bill (AB1180) by Assemblyman Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica) to make it an unlawful employment practice for an employer to discriminate against a worker because of his or her observance of any day as a Sabbath or other holy day. It now returns to the Assembly for consideration of Senate amendments.

Missing Children: Approved on a 39-0 vote a bill (AB606) by Assemblyman Gray Davis (D-Los Angeles) to increase penalties for kidnaping children, and set up a matching fund to offer rewards for information leading to the recovery of missing children. It now goes back to the Assembly for concurrence in Senate amendments.

Miscellany Board of Equalization Veteran to Retire: Democrat Richard Nevins, 64, of Pasadena, who has represented the Los Angeles area on the State Board of Equalization for 27 years, announced he will not be a candidate for reelection in 1986. Los Angeles County Assessor Alexander Pope, Sen. Art Torres (D-South Pasadena) and Nate Holden, a deputy to Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn and a former state legislator, are being mentioned as possible Democratic candidates for the post.
