Napoleon’s field glasses used at the battle of Austerlitz have been stolen by thieves who broke into a chateau in Brittany and escaped with valuables worth more than $115,000, police said Friday.

They also stole hair from Louis XVI’s horses from the 15th-Century chateau in Josselin owned by the Rohan family.

Napoleon used the field glasses while commanding French forces to victory over combined Austrian and Russian armies in the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805.
