From Reuters
Noumea, New Caledonia —
Sixteen people were evacuated from an outlying island of New Caledonia on Tuesday after drinking a local cocktail made with photocopying fluid, police said.
The group was flown by military transport plane to a hospital here in the French territory’s capital after drinking the concoction known as “blue wine”---- a mixture of photocopying fluid, lemon juice and sugar.
The 15 Melanesians and one European, ages 17 to 26, were celebrating a wedding.
