Tropical Depression Forms Off Puerto Rico

MIAMI —
The sixth tropical depression of the 1985 Atlantic hurricane season formed Thursday off the coast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, forecasters said.
The depression was centered about 300 miles south of the Caribbean island and had maximum sustained winds of 30 m.p.h., the National Hurricane Center said. It was moving west-northwest at 14 m.p.h. and may strengthen in the next 24 hours, the center said.
