Judge Won’t Cut Sentence of Fashion Designer Nipon

PHILADELPHIA —
A federal judge rejected a plea for a reduced prison term by fashion designer Albert Nipon, who is serving three years for bribing two Internal Revenue Service agents, spokesmen for the courts said Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Raymond Broderick rejected Nipon’s handwritten request, in which he said his fashion design business was suffering from his absence.
