Sunnyvale-based VeloBind, a maker of book- and document-binding systems, named Ridge L. Harlan chairman, succeeding founder William H. Abildgaard.

Abildgaard will remain director of product development and retain his seat on the company’s board. Harlan continues as president and chief executive.
