Fullerton : City Drawing Set Friday for Student-Built House
Potential buyers of a $90,000 house constructed by Fullerton College students must submit their names and a $1,000 deposit to the city’s Engineering and Community Development Department by 5 p.m. Monday to be eligible for a drawing next Friday.
The home, located at 2012 E. Dorothy Lane, is the fourth to be sold in a city-sponsored five-year, five-house project to provide some affordable single-family housing in the city. The 1,167-square-foot three-bedroom home features two baths, a fireplace, double garage, built-ins and insulation.
Bidding is restricted to people with at least six months residency in Fullerton, with a maximum household income of $39,200. They cannot own any other improved land, must occupy the home themselves and obtain their own financing.
Mayor A.B. (Buck) Catlin will draw the winning name at 3 p.m. Friday in the City Council chambers at 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. For more information, call (714) 738-6845.
