Countywide : Deputy Coroner to Head Statewide Association

Orange County Chief Deputy Coroner Jim Beisner has been installed as president of the California State Coroners Assn.

Beisner, 49, assumed the leadership role in the association last Thursday during the group’s convention in Lake Tahoe.

The association is set up to develop legislation and standardize operations and procedures for coroners and medical examiners throughout the state.

A native of Bremer County, Iowa, Beisner is a graduate of Santa Ana College (now Rancho Santiago College) and Cal State Long Beach.

He became an Orange County deputy coroner in 1963 and was appointed supervising coroner’s investigator in 1971. He assumed the duties of chief deputy coroner in 1978.
