A man who allegedly produced a knife and took $80 from a doughnut shop employee in Oxnard returned five minutes later for a cup of coffee and was arrested by a police officer investigating the robbery. Thomas Lancaster, 21, of Oxnard walked into the Winchell’s Donut Shop and was arrested by Officer Joe Kaniewski without incident. The money and a knife were seized as evidence, police said. Lancaster was booked for investigation of armed robbery and held at Ventura County Jail. Kaniewski was unable to explain why Lancaster returned. “Perhaps he thought he would not be identified,” the officer said.
