Fishing Report : Castaic Bass Catch May Set a Record

Share

All Rick King of Van Nuys wanted to do was catch a few trout. Instead, he may have wound up with a world-record largemouth bass.

King was fishing from the face of the Castaic Lake dam the other day, using cheese and marshmallows on a four-pound-test spinning outfit, with a two-pound-test leader. He caught a 15-pound 6-ounce largemouth, which exceeds the listed world record for four-pound test line by 2 pounds 2 ounces. He’ll submit the catch to the International Game Fish Assn. for world-record consideration.
