A Los Angeles area man who said he killed his 14-year-old sister 11 years ago in Oregon because they believed that he had made her pregnant pleaded guilty in a Pendleton, Ore., court to first-degree manslaughter. Kalib Valentine, 26, told the Umatilla County Circuit Court that he killed his sister under “extreme emotional distress.” Judge Jack Olsen released Valentine on his own recognizance and set sentencing for Nov. 4. He could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
