Defense Rests in Miller Trial

Richard W. Miller’s lawyers rested their case today without calling the fired FBI agent to testify and failed in a bid to have jurors hear Miller declare his innocence on a tape recording made the day of his arrest.

“I don’t want to spend the rest of my life in the slammer for something I don’t think I did,” Miller was heard saying to his wife on the tape, which was played without jurors present before it was ruled inadmissible. It was excluded because Miller told his wife that he knew the FBI was recording his conversations.
