Computer Memories Chairman Resigns

Finis Conner resigned as chairman and chief executive of Computer Memories, a Chats-worth-based disk-drive manufacturer, less than one month after joining the company.

In a news release, Computer Memories said Conner, 42, resigned for personal reasons. During the 1970s, Conner was one of the key executives who helped start Shugart Associates and Seagate Technology, two major disk-drive firms in Northern California.

No replacement was named for Conner. When he was named chairman and chief executive of Computer Memories, he replaced Irwin Rubin, now the company’s vice chairman.
