Ruth and Tom Wysocki have entered the Foot Lockers Partners National Championship race, to be held at Griffith Park Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8 a.m.

The Partners is an unique two-person 8K race sponsored by Foot Locker stores. Any two-person team can enter the Foot Locker Partners.

Ruth and Tom were the 1983 winners of the Partners. Ruth stunned the track world with her tremendous upset victory over Mary Decker in the 1984 U.S. Olympic Trials 1500.

The slender Ruth also qualified for the Olympic Games in the 800 meters. She made the finals of both events at the Los Angeles Olympiad.

Tom is one of the better 10,000-meter runners in the nation and recently participated well on the European track circuit.

Awards will be given in five combined age groups with special awards presented to family partner teams of husband-wife, brother-sister, mother-daughter, father-son, sister-sister and brother-brother.

Foot Locker introduced the Partners program in 1983 to focus attention on the thousands of families and friends who regularly run together.

The racer begins in front of the Griffith Park ranger station, near the merry-go-round. Entry blanks are available at Foot Locker and Lady Foot Locker stores.
