AT&T; Reports Income Up 19%

American Telephone and Telegraph Co. said today its after-tax income rose 19% in the third quarter from the year earlier.

AT&T; reported net income in the three months ending Sept. 30 of $378 million, or 33 cents a share, on 1.063 billion average shares outstanding compared with $317 million, or 28 cents per share, with 1.019 billion shares outstanding in the third quarter of 1984.
