The world of the deaf will be spotlighted in “In This Sign,” a “Hallmark Hall of Fame” presentation to be seen on NBC in December. Mare Winningham stars as a young woman torn between her quest for independence and her role as the link between her deaf parents and the hearing world. Deaf actors will portray all of the key deaf roles, with Phyllis Frelich and Ed Waterstreet as Winningham’s parents.

Stacy Keach is working for CBS again. Already set to make a two-hour “Mike Hammer” show for the network, he’s also starring in “Intimate Strangers,” a TV movie about an American doctor who is separated from his wife during the evacuation of Saigon in 1975 and doesn’t see her again for many years. Teri Garr plays the wife. Also starring are Cathy Lee Crosby, Max Gail, Priscilla Lopez and Max Barabas.

Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley are paired in “The Prince of Bel-Air,” a TV movie for ABC. Harmon plays a happy bachelor who makes his living cleaning pools for the rich residents of Bel-Air; Alley portrays an artist with whom he falls in love. Also featured are Robert Vaughn and Patrick Laborteaux.
