Lakeside
A 27-year-old Lakeside man drowned Sunday while scuba diving with a friend in 10-foot-deep water near La Jolla Cove, San Diego city lifeguards reported.
John William Seper, was diving with a friend at Children’s Cove shortly after 1 p.m. when he apparently lost air and panicked, lifeguard Michael O’Hare said. Lifeguards rescued Seper but failed to resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead at UC San Diego Medical Center shortly after 2 p.m.
The San Diego County Coroner’s office identified Seper as an unemployed painter, married, with a child.
