Apprehension of Terrorists

The editorial “A Moment to Savor” was a disappointment to me, to say the least, and I am sure I am not alone in feeling that way.

In your editorial you gave credit to the Reagan Administration in general for bringing to a happy conclusion the hijacking of the Italian cruise ship, but you failed to mention the name of the man who, as commander in chief, had to give the final order to go through with the plan that brought about the surrender of the hijackers, I am referring to the President of the United States, Ronald W. Reagan.

Had Reagan been in office at the time when a group of terrorists, under orders from the infamous Ayatollah Khomeini, took over the American Embassy in Tehran and held a group of Americans hostage for 444 days, that would not have happened.

Of course at that time we did not have a real President. We had a preacher and an ex-peanut farmer from Georgia acting as President. He was another demagogue, I mean Democrat, whom we have had the misfortune to have ever since Franklin D. Roosevelt came to office in 1932.
