Man Tries to Open Door of Jetliner During Flight

PHILADELPHIA —
A man tried to open the door of an Eastern Airlines jetliner Monday while the plane was about 14,000 feet above ground, and scuffled with passengers and crew members who tried to stop him, police said.
Gordon Ryan, 29, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with assault and interfering with a flight crew after Flight 470, carrying 70 passengers and five crew members from Atlanta to Boston, made a scheduled stop at Philadelphia International Airport, police said.
