U.S. F-16 and Pilot Missing Off Turkey

RAMSTEIN, West Germany — A U.S. F-16 fighter plane was believed to have gone down off the coast of Turkey on Tuesday, and its pilot was also missing, an Air Force spokesman said.
Small pieces of aircraft were found in the sea but there was so far no trace of the pilot or a parachute, the spokesman, at Air Force European headquarters in Ramstein, West Germany, said.
