Weyerhaeuser Co. posted lower profit and sales in the third quarter and said continued weakness in pulp containerboard and some paper markets were the major reasons for the earnings decline. The company also said the hot, dry summer in Washington state caused major logging shutdowns because of fire danger in July and August.
