Monterey Park : Condo Curbs Under Study

A group of residents will ask the City Council to include commercial development in a moratorium on condominium construction that it will consider at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The council last week agreed to consider a condo moratorium to give the city time to raise development standards. Frank Arcuri, one of a group of residents who staged a demonstration at last week’s council meeting to protest poor residential development, said the council will be asked to expand the moratorium to commercial projects because the city needs to raise those standards, too.
